Paul Rose, operating under the alias Scuba, is a one man Institution in the world of electronic music. Mostly known as the funder of Hotflush Recording (an independent dubstep imprint) Scuba has become the guru in the gender.
After releasing four EP’s, each filled with raw, dark and minimalistic tracks, Scuba moved from London to Berlin, where he recorded his long awaited LP - A Mutual Antipathy. This album has quickly gathered very positive feedback from the press and fans, which pretty much sealed Scuba’s place among the biggest names of modern electronics as well as one of the godfathers of dubstep!
Soon after it’s official release, A Mutual Antipathy has been taken into parts and reworked by the likes of Substance, Martyn, Surgeon and of course Paul himself. Apart from producing his own music, Scuba also remixes, so far he’s worked with f.e Fever Ray and Red Snapper. 2010 saw the release of Scuba’s second LP - Triangulation and just a year later a double cd entitled Jungle Rinse Out 1993 - 2001, a precisley picked out compilation of the british jungle scene, all done by Scuba, saw the light of day.
As promissed, Scuba’s 4 LP (entitled Personalities) is due to drop later on this year around February time!
