The Cinematic Orchestra Afterparty with Kutmah. Four Day Passes for the Festival are now on sale!

In three weeks time, on February 19th, the concrete walls of Szyb Wilson Gallery in Katowice will give home to the legendary The Cinematic Orchestra for their only polish gig of the tour. The Cinematic Orchestra is said to play their classical tunes as well as some of the still fresh material from their forthcoming release on Ninja Tune.

We’ve decided that straight after the nu-jazz legends and masters of joining chilled out melodies with energetic improvs, we’ll provide our guests with a special Afterparty treat - located in Jazz Club Hipnoza in Katowice and served to you from on of the most interesting representatives of the Brainfeeder collective - DJ and producer - Kutmah!

Born in Brighton (United Kingdom) to an Egiptian father and Scotish mother, at the age of 12 moved to the States with his family and grew up in LA. Being a declared fan of abstract rhythms and american hip-hop, this young producer as a result of a conflict with the American Immigration Office, was forced to relocate back to the UK and now resides in London. It didn’t take him long to once again find new auddience there. Whilst in LA Kutmah ran the Sketchbox club, which soon becam one of the top spots for all lovers of various genders of instrumental hip-hop. The club attracted big names like Flying Lotus or The Gaslamp Killer, who have not only become musical associates but also close friends with whom Kutmah has now played on both sides of the Atlantic.

Kutmah’s high production and remixing skills combined with high originality of his live sets have gained him the opportunity to perform next to Yoko Ono, Sonic Youth, Erykah Badu or Madlib!

If you make it to Jazz Club Hipnoza you can expect a night filled with surprising ideas and mad energy, all because Kutmah when he’s behing the decks, knows no limitations and will combine egiptian funk with jazz, radio chart hits and killer bass lines made f.e. by The Bug.

Kutmah’s Afterparty performance starts at 23.00. We have arranged addititonal bus transport from the Szyb Wilson Gallery to Jazz Club Hipnoza for all our guests.

Entry to see Kutmah is free for everyone.

Attention! We would also like to take this opportunity to inform you, that we are now on sale with the four day entry passes fot the 7th Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival 2012! The Festival will take place during the last weekend of August (23-26.08.2012) on the former KWK Katowice Coal Mine / New Silesian Museum grounds in Katowice.

The four day entry passes, which allow you to take part in all main and additional events of the festival (unless otherwise stated), cost 150 PLN! The amount of these passes to TNM 2012 is very limited.
