L-Vis 1990, or just James Connolly, is yet another young musician, who’s decided to apart from making music and DJ’ing, start his own record label. James specialises in the slighty easier gender of electronics - house music. The earlier mentioned label - Night Slugs, co-run with another british producer Bok Bok has been releasing material from young and promissing producers making dubstep influenced electro, IDM, british funky and, of course, house.
L-Vis 1990 is mostly know for his remixing skills, he has so far, to name a few, worked with Kingdom, Moska, La Roux and Sissy Nobby. All important premiere’s of his releases always took place in the London’s East Village club during his very own club night called Night Slugs (that’s where the label’s name comes from). L-Vis is also a skilled movie director making videos to his own tracks and remixes.
L-Vis’s debut LP entitled Neon Dreams came out in September 2011 with PMR Records. This album features many well known artists, such as Julio Bashmore, Teki Latex and Javeon McCarthy. Shortly before the official release, Connolly revealed in several press interviews his deep fascination in the works of Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx. All of these electronic music influences can be spotted in his debut album.
