It’s safe to say, that Kwes’s solo career, who’s been active as a musician for the last 6 years, is the smallest bit of his achievements on the electronic music scene. This british producer, who occasionally also works as a solo musician, has worked with DELS (on his debut LP Gob), experimental Mikachu (as Kwesachu they’ve released a mixtape entitled Kwesachu Mixtape vol.1), bands such as The XX, The Invisible, Golden Silvers, has done remixes for Zero 7, Portico Quartet.
Kwes. has aso worked with Damon Albarn (frontman of The Blur and Gorillaz) on his opera “Monkey”. Kwes. has recorded and toured with Ebony Bones (lead guitar), Elan Tamara (bass), Bono Must Die, Leftfield and Jack Peńate.
With such baggage of musical knowledge and experience, the release of Kwes’s first independent LP No Need to Run (in 2010) seems the only logical consequence.No Need to Run is formed out of four tracks. Each is a professionaly tailored and sampled piece, lined up together the four make up a electropop compilation heading towards a very simple and welcoming musical trip.
Kwes. has already made an announcement about his next official release which will be called, what makes sense, Meantime. With so many collaborations on his mind, meantime is the only way to go with your own productions!
